Transformational Hypnotherapy is an advanded hypnotherapy practice, an interactive approach which is client-centred.

The tools I use in Transformational Hypnotherapy clear the slate from beliefs coming from trauma and wounds of the past

Most of us have experienced scary, confusing, wounding situations in childhood, or for some of us, even abusive situations.

In such situations we might register a lot of stress and confusion, and start believing that it is happening because of who or what we are (not good enough, not lovable...). We also believe adults around us even when they are wounded themselves and not able to give us truthful, supportive messages.

As that happens, false or damaging beliefs and automatic, disproportionate stress-response become engraved in the subconscious mind and in the body's memory.

Some messages or abuse we receive have been passed down to us from multiple generations before us. If that's the case, we work on bringing healing and peace in these intergenerational “stories”.

This has the added meaningful benefit of clearing the slate for others coming after you in your family line.

We reframe earlier events retaining the wisdom and important lessons surrounding these life experience while removing the painful "sting" from these memories.

 

Subpersonality or Parts Therapy: Embracing all of yourself, deepening Self-Love

Our mind compartmentalizes learning and skills, even if they are harmful ones. With Parts Therapy you create a new healing relationship with these parts and they can shift from causing harm to helping you.

Working with the Shadow

Within my hypnotherapy practice I include elements of Shadow Work, which helps you integrate aspects of yourself that have been deemed unacceptable or feel uncomfortable -- your fears, anger, doubts, difficulties, and blocks.

The "Shadow" part of Self is often viewed by the conscious mind as "bad", but it is actually a very creative and powerful force, the keeper of important wisdom and resources. Through working with it, you are provided the opportunity of accessing these and living a more fully integrated life.

Often there is great intensity associated with shadow issues, that simply points to an area where a shift is ready to take place. It is possible for our consciousness to expand and incorporate the area of "friction" into our growing zone of self-love.

 

The body as our guide

I work with body consciousness as a main tool. Sometimes the body is expressing itself strongly, through pain or intense discomfort.

Your physical sensations serve here as a solid guiding tool. The body doesn't lie, and has the ability to take us to the core of the emotional issues present.

From a place of deep focus and stillness, I assist you in meeting the various aspects or shapes that the emotional energy that is calling out for your attention is taking.

With an intention of unconditional love, through allowing the feelings that come up with these to be fully felt, fully acknowledged and accepted, they are able to become integrated.

With this comes peace and the ability for your inner wisdom to unfold and discover and release events, beliefs and fears you might be holding onto and no longer need to.

The body will often relax the pain or discomfort, which functions much like a signal on a dashboard, once we have brought our attention and heard what is needed.

Becoming emotionally embodied also allows you to notice and take care of the messages sent by your body's sensations in your everyday life.

    Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

     

    In sessions I combine Transformational Hypnotherapy with EFT.

    EFT, or Emotional Freedom techniques, is a practice which uses the Traditional Chinese Medicine system of meridian points. We gently tap using our fingers on a series of meridian end points, relaxing the body and allowing energy to flow through. Studies have shown that EFT helps decrease the stress hormone cortisol rapidly.

    EFT combines this tapping process with a series of sentences that help you move through the issue at hand and release the emotions and stress surrounding it.

    How to stop the body's stress-response from limiting our ability to act creatively

    In the midst of a physically distressing experience it is almost impossible to think of new creative ways to look at an issue, or to make the decision that we know is right for us. The mind can't see past the old ways of thinking and acting because of the stress activated in the body.

    Emotional Freedom Techniques, also known as Tapping, allows this stress-response to be relieved quickly and effectively.

    EFT has been shown to regulate the amygdala, the area of the brain that activates the chemistry of stress. It can quickly modify what is happening in the energy of the body facing a challenging thought or situation. By acting on the emotional reaction of the primitive brain, you can release the discomfort, anxiety or pain and connect to inner calmness and serenity.

    EFT can be used easily and effectively by yourself outside of sessions and can serve as a simple, active and structured everyday stress-management practice.
